Esqué raise £5000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer

Nearly 300 guests attended Esqué's BIG PINK BALL dressed in their pink and black finery and helped the team raise an amazing £5000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

As guests arrived, they had their photos taken at the Storm Studios photo booth before making their way through to the Chesford Grange main ballroom for dinner. The room was swathed in pink from top to bottom with a huge feature glitter disco ball in the centre of the room and star cloth twinkling behind the stage.

The Esqué angels (complete with pink wings) worked their way around the room selling raffle tickets and the grand draw took place after dinner with 25 prizes going to lucky winners across the tables. Prizes ranged from restaurant meals to huge hampers of goodies including a year's supply of Krispy Kreme donuts!

The charity auction saw 5 lots including unique one-off jewellery pieces, health club membership, a top of the range Saracen bicycle and limited edition painting, all going to the highest bidder at the hands of chief auctioneer and Esqué's Chairman, Andrew Selby.

Covers band, Kamikaze Fish then took to the stage for nearly 2 hours of live music, getting the party started and filling the dance floor all night. Favourite songs included "Mustang Sally", Avril Lavigne's "Skater Boi", the Scissor Sisters "Take Your Mama" and a fantastic end to the set with "Video Killed the Radio Star".

The disco took over until the small hours of the morning while the charity casino tables were buzzing with the top 3 winners from the roulette and black jack winning prizes at the end of the night.

A wonderful night was had by all and we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who cam along to support the night.

Esque are planning to celebrate their most recent award at ‘The Big Pink Ball’, a gala charity event organised by the salon in aid of breast cancer.

Esqué have just won the regional British Beauty & Spa Award for the third consecutive year – the first time that a salon has won the hat trick in that category. Esqué have won the regional title in 2005 and 2006, when they also scooped the prestigious UK Salon of the Year award - crowing them the best beauty salon in the UK.

The British Beauty Awards, hosted by TV’s Ben Shepard, were held earlier this month at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London with over 500 of the industry’s leading professionals in attendance. The ceremony is the highlight of the beauty industry year, with the awards being keenly fought by the UK’s premier salons, spas and therapists.

In celebration of the salons achievement, Esqué have decided to organise a gala charity event. “We are so delighted to have received the award for third year running, we wanted to celebrate and give something back at the same time.” says Sally Rees, Managing Director. “The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Charity is close to our hearts, as we all know somebody who has been affected by the disease.

Why ‘The Big Pink Ball’? “Our corporate colour is pink and that colour is shared by the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity, and it’s going to be a huge night.” says Sally, “The support so far from local businesses and our clients has been amazing. We hope it will be a sell out and will help us to raise plenty of money for this fantastic cause.”

‘The Big Pink Ball’ will be held at Chesford Grange Hotel on Friday, November 9th at 7.30pm. A 3 course meal, live music, DJ, raffle and charity auction guarantee a great night…there’s plenty more to come and goody bags for all guests. It’s a ‘dress to impress’ night with a black and pink dress code. Tickets are £39 each or £350 for a table of ten and can be purchased directly from Esqué, over the phone or from their website.
